Ending the Ukrainian War Will Be “Dirty”
COMMON SENSE: I’m going to explain quite a bit, so please pay careful attention.
Vladimir Putin, as well as being Russia’s dictator, is a very savvy politician. You can see it in the way he released Mark Fogel. Asking nothing in return, at least in the short run, Putin gave President Trump a huge media victory, but there is much more to it than the release of a political prisoner. It’s actually the opening move that will lead to the end of the Russian-Ukraine War.
As clever as Putin is, he made a terrible miscalculation a few years ago. He badly overestimated the fighting effectiveness of his military. Today’s Russian Army is a far cry from the dominating Red Army that defeated the Wehrmacht on the Eastern front in World War II.
With the current conflict in Ukraine having deteriorated into a war of attrition, with both sides sustaining massive casualties, Putin wants it to end. Trump wants this as well, so does Volodymyr Zelensky.
So, with the release of Fogel, the first pawn has moved that will bring about a ceasefire, which should become permanent. Forces from each side will remain in place. Russia will increase its dominance on the Crimean Peninsula and gain several other land concessions, but Ukraine will remain largely intact.
As for the USA, Trump has aspirations as well. He wants Ukraine to pay for all of the munitions we have sent them over the years. This totals to about $300 billion which, as poor as Ukraine is, with a GDP of less than $200 billion annually, they could never repay. Knowing this, Trump still wants to get paid, but how can this happen?
Trump has an idea. He will take payment from Ukraine is dirt. That’s right, dirt—Ukrainian topsoil to be exact. If this sounds weird to you, let me explain why it isn’t.
Ukraine is the breadbasket of Europe. Its soil is the richest in the world, so rich that the Mackinder theory of history maintained that whoever controlled this area of the Euro-Asian plain would control the world. His theory was juxtaposed by Mahan’s “Rimland Theory,” which you probably learned about but quickly forgot.
Trump, knowing how valuable this topsoil is, wants $300 billions worth of it, which Zelensky has already agreed to pay. That’s nice, but what do we do with dirt that’s located in Central Europe? How do we get it back to the USA?
That’s the easy part. We use the tankers that are currently bringing liquified natural gas to Europe. When they return, instead of being empty, they can be filled with a load of dirt. When the dirt arrives, it will be used to enrich farmland all over the fruited plane. Because it’s the best topsoil on earth, having it in abundance will go a long way toward making America healthy again. Best of all, the value of this soil will have an almost immediate, positive impact on the American people.
This is a level of strategic planning that few would have even considered. It’s absolutely brilliant. That our President wants repayment in dirt, which Ukraine has in abundance, is a clear indication that Trump and his advisors know what they are doing. The synchronicity of it, the multiplied levels of masterful thinking to make this happen, is mindboggling.
