My daily local radio broadcast was concluding as a man knocks on my office door. The Holy Spirit urges me to let this gentleman inside. Tom, driving home after experiencing the worst day of his life, knew he wanted prayer from the lady who was teaching on the Christian radio broadcast. Still in shock and disbelief that he attended his infant’s funeral just hours before, he is desperate to save his other babies from the same fate. Burying one’s own child is something no one should have to endure.

Tom rushed to the Children’s Hospital as soon as Joshua’s home-going was over. His wife, Deb, knew that carrying triplets to term will be challenging. When the triplets made a surprise early entrance, Tom and Deb knew that the premature birth of the babies stretched their faith. Now this father is fighting for the lives of his surviving daughter and son. Upon hearing from the physician that his remaining son, Hunter, wouldn’t survive the night, Tom became desperate. This father needs a miracle and then the lady on the radio talks about miracles. He turns off the interstate and arrives, knocking on my door.

He wants me to pray for his babies. Dreading another late-night call from the hospital, he needs someone to join him in praying. Blurting out the details concerning his triplets, he asks if I will pray for his remaining son’s life. Burying Joshua was a nightmare. Please pray that God will protect Hunter. His newborn daughter, Shelby, was stable for the time being.

I ask him to shut his eyes. I felt God’s immense power urging me to pray for these babies. My personal experience with high-level intercession included intense signs and wonders. I discern the need to battle the spirit of death (Cyndi 183).

The Holy Spirit’s supernatural intercession is beyond the understanding of our intellectual minds. Spiritual warfare humbles you. Allowing the Holy Spirit to take full control is a formidable strategy for winning the tough battles. As Tom closes his eyes, I yield to the Holy Spirit for the battle, with authoritative radical intercession at the forefront. After about 10 minutes, I realize that the spirit of death has been defeated! Directed by the Holy Spirit, I speak words of life over the babies. Tom needs a vision for their future. The heaviness of seeing tiny Joshua in a small white coffin screams death. Tom must replace the fear of death with a vision full of life.

In a vision, I see Hunter and Shelby, 18 years from now, at their high school graduation. As I’m receiving this vision, I speak it out loud to this brokenhearted father. In the vision, his son and daughter are walking down the aisle to receive their diplomas.

Thanking me, Tom drives away. Years later, at a prophetic Catch the Fire Conference, I saw him and met his wife, Deb. They updated me on the health of their son and daughter. This family loves Jesus!

I met Hunter and Shelby for the first time, just months after their high school graduations. Both are studying to be ministers. Active at their church, especially in outreach and missions, the entire family glorifies God. Both kids have adapted to their hearing loss resulting from their premature births. Together, we are all believing for a creative miracle to restore the hearing. Testimony to be continued (Cyndi 184).
