Got Flashlight, Will Travel

by Robin Alcala

While I sit at my desk working, I just had flash before me; a dream I had back in the 1980’s.  I have not thought of this dream for many years.  Yet, I see and remember it in vivid detail, just as if I dreamed it this morning.  This dream was during a season when God was revealing to me how vital the Word of God was to my life, as I had been seeking Him in the Scriptures regarding a challenging situation.

In the dream, I saw an underground tunnel in St. Louis where I reside. At that time, I was not aware that there was such a thing, though years later after encouraging someone with this dream, they confirmed there actually was such a tunnel.

In this tunnel I saw a couple, which so happened to be Kenneth and Gloria Copeland. They were walking hand in hand, with Kenneth leading.  He held a flashlight in his hand as it shone upon the floor of that dark tunnel, and I heard him say, “It is the Word of God that will lead us out”, as he spoke confidently to his wife.  This scripture came to me as I heard him speak that in my dream, “God’s Word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path”.  There was also, this peaceful presence of the Holy Spirit that seemed to be their rear guard.  And as they proceeded, I saw far off in the distance, that there was “light at the end of the tunnel”.

No matter what the challenge you may be facing at the moment, nor regardless of how dark life may be for you right now, if you will use the Word of God as a flashlight, it will guide you safely through the most trying moments and He will bring you safely through.  Because our God who is omniscient and omnipotent, is not only with you in your dark tunnel but He is also the Light at the end of it.
