Here’s How We Can Get the Truth
COMMON SENSE: The handwriting is on the wall. Despite the public’s legitimate need to know what happened when Thomas Matthew Crooks attempted to assassinate former President Donald J. Trump, that’s not going to happen. Obfuscation and stonewalling, the specialty of the federal government, especially the intelligence community, have already set in.
The Secret Service, who has been derelict in its duty to protect Trump for years, has singled him out with leftovers while providing more than adequate protection for others. Now, after failing in their duty, they continue to provide less than adequate answers about what went wrong. Worse, they have no intention to be forthcoming, nor does the Department of Justice.
Why would the DOJ? Along with the White House, they have been busy coordinating the Lawfare against Trump for years. In my estimation, no federal agency has any intention to be transparent.
But what about Congress, you might ask? The House is determined to get to the bottom of things. We can count on them, can’t we?
Somewhat, I suppose, but I see a real problem with Congress’ end goal. Here’s what it is: The public outrage is so pronounced, the interest in obtaining the truth is so high, that House members, all of whom are up for election, will use the free publicity they are about to receive to grandstand. They can’t help it. It’s in their DNA. As a result, the truth will suffer.
I know I have presented a bleak picture here, but I believe it’s an accurate one. So, are we without hope? With things as they stand now, yes, I believe we are. But, I do have an idea, an out-of-the-box solution to our dilemma.
Here it is: On July 13th, there was one murder and four other people shot in Butler County, PA. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, with the Butler County District of Attorney taking the lead, has full authority to investigate what happened. The murder of Corey Compatore, and the shooting of the other three, are all state crimes.
There is a downside though. With only 13,000 residents, Butler County doesn’t have the financial resources to launch such an investigation, and I doubt the state will want to bear the cost. I have an answer for that as well. What if we, interested Americans, started a Go-Fund-Me account for such an investigation? The money would pour in and, we would get what we absolutely deserve, a legitimate investigation. What do you think? Is this a good idea or not?
