Targeting War Criminals

COMMON SENSE: The media repeatedly asks President Trump what is the endgame for our attack on Iran. Trump’s response is less clear than most would like, especially his critics, but it is regime change. Unless the 47-year rule of Twelver Shiism ends, regardless of how many bombs we drop, within a decade we will be required to do it all again. That’s not an acceptable outcome.
At the same time, it’s unlikely that the regime will collapse all at once. Instead, like a person who sustains multiple gunshot wounds, its power will bleed out until it is no longer able to function.
Understanding this, Israel’s IDF is targeting Iranian leaders, taking them out systematically, one by one.
To augment this effort, I suggest that we compile a list of targeted leaders, both political and military, and publicize it. Let everybody, especially the Iranian people, know exactly who is on the list.
In the Gulf War, President George W. Bush created a deck of cards with the photo of each targeted leader on it. When one was killed or captured, the card was removed from the deck.
In Iran, there would be too many for a deck of cards, but it’s crucial that everybody, especially Iranian citizens, be made aware of who needs to be removed so that the dictatorial rule will end.
Doing this would go a long way toward ending the rule of the Ayatollah over the Iranian people. Plus, when a popular uprising occurs, which must happen, the people will know the culprits who need to be brought to justice.
