The UK and Ukraine Have Been Sneaky

COMMON SENSE: President Trump has paused all aid to Ukraine, including munitions. He has done this until Volodymyr Zelenskyy changes his position on a peace deal. I not only believe this was a wise position for Trump to take, I also consider it to be a necessary one. Let me explain why.

Shortly before Trump assumed office, four days to be exact, Zelenskyy met with U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer in London. At that meeting, the U.K. and Ukraine signed a one-hundred-year pact. The germane terms of the pact obligate the U.K. to defend Ukraine for that period of time in exchange for Britain obtaining mineral rights in Ukraine.

Does this sound familiar? It should. If it does, it means you are paying attention.

It appears that Ukraine wants to barter its mineral rights to the USA, rights that already belong to the United Kingdom. But how can this be, you might ask?

It’s because the USA is being played, that’s why. In the United Kingdom, Zelenskyy’s meeting with Starmer wasn’t a secret but, with the impending Inauguration of Donald Trump to be the 47th President, it didn’t receive the amount of attention it normally would have. So, when Trump came up with the idea of going into partnership with Ukraine, it was applauded by both the Ukrainians and the British.

In his zeal to keep the USA involved, Prime Minister Starmer even went so far as to make an unplanned trip to the White House on behalf of Ukraine. Remaining mum about his own deal, Starmer’s purpose was to ensure that U.S. money and weapons continued to flow into Ukraine. His efforts were applauded by the media, but nothing about the meeting was as it appeared.

In my opinion, Starmer, by talking endlessly about the centuries old alliance between the USA and the UK, was doing everything he could to butter-up Trump, but it didn’t work.

When I watched their warm, ingratiating meeting in the Oval Office, with Starmer praising Trump’s leadership repeatedly, I couldn’t help but remember that the Labour Party, Starmer’s Party, send 100 operatives to campaign for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. Clearly, Starmer did not want Trump to win the election. Neither did Zelensky. He made a special trip to the USA last October to campaign for Kamala in Pennsylvania.

So, to the informed, all of the syrupy praise from Starmer was disingenuous, nauseating bull you-know-what. It was meant to mislead us. What the British P.M. and Zelenskyy want is to trap the USA into a commitment that has the potential to escalate into World War III—the neo-con warmongers in Washington D.C. want this too.

Trump and his team have seen through the subterfuge and have wisely taken a big step backwards. Good for them. This is what the USA needs to do. Russia may be weak economically, but their nuclear capability is actually greater than ours. We cannot allow Ukraine or the UK to ensnare us into an endless war that isn’t ours. Pulling back was the wise course of action.
