Trump, TDS and Greenland

COMMON SENSE: Let’s connect a few dots about Greenland and its strategic importance. Before we do, however, here’s something that’s interesting.

Believe it or not, President Trump, whose commitment to annex a portion of Greenland for military defense, has actually gotten Democrats to defend Colonialism. That’s right, by defending the territorial rights of Denmark over the last vestige of their colonial empire, Democrats have become militant about the rights of Danes to own Greenland.

How bizarre is that? Anti-Colonialism is a core value for Progressives. We all know this but, because of the power of Trump Derangement Syndrome, where Greenland is concerned, Colonialism is suddenly okay.

The right of Greenlanders to self-determination has taken a backseat to the rights of Copenhagen to “own” this massive island. The Danes’ position is this: being members of NATO makes them equals with the USA. They actually believe this. Because they do, they maintain that, if the USA “takes Greenland,” it will destroy NATO.

That’s nonsense, of course. It won’t. If anything, without using Greenland as our outer defense, the value of NATO will diminish. Perhaps it will even cease to exist. That being the case, and Trump not really caring what the Danes want, one way or the other, the USA is destined to own a significant part of the island. Since the area Trump wants is uninhabited, and he’s willing to pay a pretty penny for it, he’s determined to “make a deal.”

The Danes and the Democrats, even though their position is self-defeating, despite the fact that it would make us vulnerable to Russia and China, militantly oppose him.

We know how this will end though. Greenland will be used as our outer shield to defend North American and Europe from Russia and China. Even though this is in our best interests, the Danes and the Democrats, because of their TDS, will never see it that way, not even if the move saves them from being attacked in the future. That’s the power of TDS.
