Without Question, We Are Cushing Iran
COMMON SENSE: I see numerous stories in the news about how well Iran is doing, about how they are actually winning the war, and about how President Trump doesn’t have a clue about what he is doing. That being the case, I would like to explain to you why we are winning, and precisely how dire the situation in Iran is.
Routinely, we are informed that Iran, because of our blockade, is losing about $435 million per day from their GDP. When Americans hear this, they know it’s a great deal of money but, in their minds, they equate the loss based on their American frame of reference. The problem is that is comparing apples to oranges. Let me explain.
The GDP of the USA is $28.75 trillion, according to the World Bank. Iran’s GDP is much less. It’s only $475 billion, a little less than half a trillion. So, our economy is sixty times larger than theirs.
That’s where the problem comes in. The $435 million loss each day for Iran represents .091% of that nation’s total GDP. This means, the U.S. Naval blockade, which began on April 13th, and has been completely effective so far, has already cost Iran over 1% of its GDP. That’s a huge loss.
In the USA, a loss of this magnitude would equate to everything that is produced in a state like Louisiana, Kentucky, or Alabama. Everything produced would be wiped away in just twelve days. If you think about it like this, comparing apples to apples, how long do you think the USA could sustain such a massive loss?
Being logical, which Democrats and Never-Trumpers seem incapable of being, if we were to sustain such a loss due to a wartime blockade, how in the world could something like that be considered a victory? The simple answer is, it couldn’t be. It would be a crushing defeat.
The blockade in the Strait of Hormuz is choking the economic life out of a very weak economy. If the blockade continues for another two weeks, the loss of revenue in Iran would equate to what the GDP would be in a state like Pennsylvania, Georgia or Colorado would be.
So, the simpletons, who do not have the capacity to understand how effective our military has been, or the impact of geopolitical realities, will continue to spout their nonsense, but what I have explained to you is an accurate depiction of what is really happening. By simply maintaining the blockade, without doing one other thing, Iran will eventually collapse, and it will not take long to happen.
