Yes, Give the American Taxpayers a Refund

COMMON SENSE: Finally, we have a situation where there are only positive answers. In politics, this rarely happens. It appears that DOGE is going to be so successful at recovering waste and fraud in the federal government that the American people might be able to obtain a refund from it.

Once the idea of a reimbursement was floated, however, some very prudent leaders said that every recovered dollar should be used to retire our debt, which stands at a whopping $36.5 trillion dollars. It’s hard to argue with being fiscally responsible but, in this case, I believe that 20 percent of what’s recovered should be returned to American taxpayers.

Here’s why. Let’s say the refund check would be for $5,000. If those checks were mailed on July 4th of next year—Independence Day—with President Trump’s signature on every one of them, this would be tangible proof that Republican leadership is working effectively for the American people. No amount of TV ads by the Democrats would be able to counteract money in the pockets of taxpayers.

It would also send the message that the misappropriated funds had been stolen from them by the Democrats—an accurate message by the way. With the Midterm Elections being just four months after the checks were mailed, there would be no way for the Democrats to flip either the Senate or the House. They would lose numerous seats instead—a fate they richly deserve.

Additionally, this would be a stimulus to the economy that would help everybody. This is why I think a 20 percent refund should be made, with the other 80 percent used to help retire our national debt. It would be a win for the American people and for the Republican Party, while producing a crushing defeat for the Democrats. Did I already say this was a fate they richly deserve? I believe I did.
