Why We Stand With Israel

The Gaza Strip is about 1/10th the size of Rhode Island, which makes it a very small area, but it is one of the most densely populated areas in the world. With a population of 2.3 million, it has slightly more people than New Mexico.

Because Israel controls all the water needed for Gaza to survive, the Israel Defense Force (IDF) has a strategic advantage over Hamas. The IDF also controls Gaza’s electricity and Internet. The air space over Gaza is also controlled by the IDF. This means Gaza’s ability to survive is controlled by those they are attacking.

By eliminating Gaza’s water supply and cutting off their electricity and Internet, the IDF can cripple their attackers. This has probably already happened. Despite Hamas’ attack being a complete surprise, Israel definitely has a strategic advantage. They must use this. They must be as ruthless as the Jihadists have been in their counteroffensive. They must attack swiftly because worldwide public opinion, which is antisemitic, will end up being supportive of the Palestinian cause.

Israel only has one friend, the USA. Our support comes largely from Evangelicals and half of the Jewish population. The other half, Liberal Jews, are a faithless lot. For this war to end well, as Christians, we must remain steadfastly supportive of Israel, regardless of how unpopular their cause becomes.

Many will equate what is happening with End Times prophesy. It may be, but it may not be. We don’t know. What we do know is that we are called to stand with the Jews, and stand with them we will.
